M Blanket

M Blanket was an emo band from from Victoria, BC, Canada that was formed by Dave Wenger (Daddy`s Hands and Ache Hour Credo). They released two 7”s titled “Safety” (STB 001) and “Seen It Coming” (STB 006) both released by Slow To Burn Records.
They also made an appearance on the 12” compilation “Farmhouse Compilation 94” put out by Farmhouse Records and “Fuck the Commonwealth - 22 Bands From Ontario and BC That Hate the Queen!” compilation.
They were active from 1992-1995.

They are quickly becoming one of my favorite bands. I haven't really gotten into ache hour credo yet, and i can't find anything by daddy's hands, but I just keep listening to these songs over and over again. Really catchy emo/hardcore that sounds pretty much like Jawbreaker, but with better lyrics. You can download everything here, and read the lyrics off of the records: M Blanket

Everyone Asked About You

Everyone Asked About You were an emo band from Little Rock, AR. They had a female vocalist which made their music even more pretty. Really great music and the lyrics are good as well. I wish this band had made more music, and apparently they had an LP which was never released.

The Kossabone Red

from last.fm: The Kossabone Red were an Atlanta, Georgia band that existed from 1996 to 1998. Sonically, The Kossabone Red were a good mixture of Cap’n Jazz-inspired emo and catchy spastic hardcore. Members went on or have been in bands such bands as Portrait, Some Soviet Station, The Paper Lions, Electrosleep International, and Airoes.

Their only album was a Self-Titled CD/LP put out by Conspiracy Records. This LP is the only record left in print by the band. They also released two 7”, one on Ripcord (1997) and one on Insurance scam (1996).

Definitely lots of cap'n jazz sound here, tons of energy and sloppy instrumentation. I'd recommend starting with the LP, it is my personal favorite, and the 7"s have a different sound to them.
